Phases of Living and Dying

It's never too early to start thinking ahead, and it can make difficult planning and conversations easier if we don't wait until there's a crisis. In fact, we can focus on several times in our lives when it can be helpful to consider end of life decisions for ourselves, families, and others in our lives.

Relaxation and stress reduction - good for anyone of any age!

Leaving a Legacy - how we want to be remembered

Palliative Care for Chronic or Terminal Conditions - not necessarily the same thing

Aging - it happens to us all if we endure long enough

Hospice - Terminal diagnoses with a limited life expectancy

Comfort measures - supporting someone who is no longer seeking treatment or cure

Transitioning - active dying, which itself has stages, like birth

Memorializing - grieving and celebrating those who have passed
